Aleister Crowley vs K2
En 1902, el aventajado escalador inglés y futuro gran ocultista, Aleister Crowley, instiga junto a su habitual compañero de escalada, Oscar Eckenstein, el primer intento de la historia al K2 (Pakistán), junto a otros cinco escaladores austriacos.
A pesar de las difíciles condiciones meteorológicas, la falta de entrenamiento y de medios, el equipo alcanza los 6.500 metros.
La expedición terminará cuando, a esa misma altura, Crowley apunta a la cabeza de un desmoralizado austriaco con un revolver cargado, instándole a que siga avanzando.
Unos años antes, concretamente el 18 de Abril de 1889, el mismo Aleister dejaría reseñado en el libro de visitas del hotel Wastwater (Lake District, Inglaterra), lo que parece ser la primera guía de Boulder de la historia.

In 1902, the outstanding English climber and future occultist, Aleister Crowley, instigated along with his climbing partner, Oscar Eckenstein, the first ever attempt to ascend the K2 (Pakistan), together with five Austrian climbers.
Despite the harsh weather, the lack of training and means, the team reached an altitude of 6.500m.
The expedition finished when, at that same height, Crowley pointed a gun to one demoralized Austrian, urging him to continue moving forward.
Some years earlier, specifically April 18th, 1889, the same Aleister wrote in the guestbook of Wastwater hotel (Lake District, England), what appears to be the first Bouldering guide in history.
“Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.”
